s.taylor: Hello! I am a student pursuing my Master's in Social Work so this class has my genuine interest. On the political typology quiz I scored a "solid liberal." Yikes. Mainstream media and society has made "liberal" sound like such a dirty word but I'll own it. I'm not sure that I have any defined political influences. I try to be objective. I have not participated in campaigning for any political party. The most I do is text my family and friends to remind them what voting is going on and when. So, yes, I do vote. I try to vote at most, if not all opportunities. The less publicized, talked about elections are just as important as the presidential! Despite my deep concern for America and its citizens, I'm mainly taking this class as a requirement for my degree. But I do look forward to the increase in my political knowledge. As a Social Work major, the government plays a huge role in what my future clients will need from me and I need to be as informed as possible.
